THIRD US PROMINIGOLF ASSOCIATION
HALL OF FAME INCDUCTEE
PETER GILCHRIST-BOOTHBAY, MAINE
Playing and competing since 1993, Peter Gilchrist is the third inductee into the U.S. ProMiniGolf Hall of Fame October 17, 2015for his supreme dedication, determination, and sportsmanship to the USPMGA. Still an avid competitor, Gilchrist has won over 20 different titles. Gilchrist has won the New England Dolphin tournament twelve times. Currently Gilchrist is the only person to have won the New England Grand Slam-winning all four tournaments at least once which include: Massachusetts Open, Mini Golf Hartford Open, Maine State Dolphin Open, and the Odetah Fall Classic. Gilchrist’s premier putting allowed him to compete in the USPMGA Master’s at Hawaiian Rumble in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina winning two times in the Senior division. Gilchrist also competed in the prestigious US Open taking second place in the Open division. One of Gilchrist’s memories during his mini golf career would be the only player to lose a match to his biggest competitor, his wife Nancy. Peter was one of the seven from Boothbay, Maine that played in the very first USPMGA Master’s in 1997. The total number of players that first year was fifteen and from the meager beginning has grown in the World Famous event it is today. Peter has supported and help promote the U.S. ProMiniGolf Tour for the past twenty years and is a great example of what a USPMGA Pro should be. Peter has also won the USPMGA sportsmanship award many times, for his superior attitude on and off the course. Thanks to Peter and Pro like him the USPMGA will do nothing but get bigger and better every year.
