1st Annual South Carolina Open Winner

South Carolina Open Champion

On a beautiful sunny day in Myrtle Beach, the South Carolina Open crowned it’s first Champion.   Rick Baird came from behind in the final two rounds to shoot an incredible 16 under par in closing.  His mentor and good friend Gary Hester also fired a fantastic last round of 7 under to finish second.  Gary has been an extremely strong competitor in the Minigolf Majors over the last several years and once again proved himself to be a top contender.  Finishing third in the event was another older gentlemen John Ventura.

In the Amateur division Vanette Block won another of many tournaments that she has competed in.  Fantastic showing every time out.

The USPMGA would like to thank Bob Detwiler and family for holding the event and making it possible for us to continue the growth of the tour.

A big big thanks also to Pete Corcoran and his Wonderful wife Rachel for all the hard work they have done to get things organized and to make the tournament run smoothly.  Rachel and Pete spent countless hours getting everything prepared.

There were quite a few new players coming out this year also, and we want to take the time to say thank you and hopefully this keeps your interest in further competitions put on by the USPMGA.
