The Southern Swing Tournament

 

Event Details:

  • Event: 2025 Georgia Open and Southern Swing
  • Date: Saturday, July 12, 2025
  • Location: Chattahoochee Gulch course at The Fringe, 5100 Commerce Pkwy, Roswell, GA
  • Check-In Time: No Later than 8:30 AM
  • Event Start Time: Promptly at 9:00 AM
  • Tournament Style: Stroke Play; Five (5) Rounds for Pros and three (3) rounds for Amateur and any additional divisions.
  • Practice Day: All-day practice on Friday, July 12 is included in tournament fee
  • Purse: $2500 National Pro and $350 for Georgia Pro
  • Additional Prizes: VIP Concert Tickets and a Caddy Daddy golf bag!
  • Clubs & Balls: House putters / balls are provided although we encourage you to bring your own. National Pros are required to play this tournament with a Chromax golf ball per USPMGA. Their Association’s Rules and Guidelines can be found HERE.

    (Includes Friday practice and Saturday green fees):

    • National Pro: $75 (Pro outside of GA and MUST be a member of the USPMGA)
    • Georgia Pro: $55 (Local Pro)
    • Amateur: $35 (Anyone)
    • Women’s: $20 (Amateur or Pro)

      • National Pro: Pays out the top 15 plus additional prizes
      • Georgia Pro: Pays out the top three plus additional prizes

Peggy Detwiler Obituary

Peggy Jo Detwiler passed away peacefully at her home on June 2, 2025. She was born on February 25, 1940, in Goshen, Indiana, the daughter of Helen and Haines McKibbin. Her family owned and operated the Honey Crust Bakery. Peggy is survived by her loving husband, Robert Detwiler; her daughter, Melissa Detwiler; her son, Theadore Detwiler; and her cherished granddaughter, Jordan Grace Detwiler – all of Los Angeles, California. Peggy graduated from Goshen College with a degree in Business and later earned her master’s degree from Ball State University. She began her professional career as a teacher at Hammond Tech High School in Hammond, Indiana, where she became the youngest-ever head of the Business Department. In 1976, Peggy and Robert moved from Hammond to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where they opened a Baskin-Robbins ice cream shop in the Myrtle Square Mall. Peggy was an active member of the community, serving for many years on the board of Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC). She later helped build and donated to the bakery wing at HGTC. Over her lifetime, Peggy helped build many successful businesses and traveled to nearly every corner of the world. She also volunteered with organizations such as Meals on Wheels and Helping Hands, generously giving her time to those in need. A familiar figure along the shoreline, Peggy walked the beach daily and picked up bags of trash for over thirty years. Peggy will be remembered for her intelligence, compassion, and unwavering commitment to her family and community. 2025 USPMGA US Open

What a fantastic week of practice and putting at the TinCup Grill in Cumming Ga. City Center.  Hosted by the Putters League.   What turned out to be an exciting last round with Joey Graybeal of Tennessee winning the title and Tom Butler a new comer on the Minigolf tour pushing him the entire last round along with Rainey Statum sitting on their heals.
